  • General Tires

    Smart Tires for Smart Drivers

Northern Automotive Tire & Repair carries a selection of General tires for customers in Crivitz, WI, Coleman, WI, Athelstane, WI, and surrounding areas. We are committed to locating the right set of tires to match the individual driving needs of every customer.

    General: Anywhere is Possible

The General Tire and Rubber Company was founded in 1915 by William O’Neil and Winfred E. Fouse in Akron, Ohio, the rubber capital of the world. General Tire entered a booming market with over 300 competitors, so O’Neil and Fouse bypassed the original equipment (OE) market and moved straight on to focus on producing a quality replacement tire.

An early tire that General Tire released was the General Balloon Jumbo, a pneumatic truck tire that required only 12 pounds of air pressure. In 1955, General Tire entered the passenger car OE tire market as the tire supplier for General Motors.

    Types of General Tires:

    • Passenger Car Tires
    • Performance Tires
    • SUV/Crossover Tires
    • Minivan Tires
    • Light Truck Tires
    • Summer Tires
    • Winter Tires
    • Commercial Tires

General Tire is Synonymous with Durability and Performance

The General Tire and Rubber Company underwent a name change to GenCorp, Inc. in 1984, and then soon sold to Continental AG of Hanover, Germany in 1987. General Tire is currently a branch of Continental Tire North America, Inc. They still are one of the leaders in the pack for marketing, production, and development of superior tires.

General Tire still continues its tradition of manufacturing a comprehensive line of quality, ultra-high performing tires.

Regardless of your driving or budget needs, our staff can help you find the perfect set of General tires. We have the right price on the right tire for every customer who walks through our door. Contact us or visit us today to begin your search for the right set of General tires.

  • Dunlop Tires

    Arrive In Style. Drive Dunlop.

At Northern Automotive Tire & Repair, we are a proud provider of Dunlop tires for customers in Crivitz, WI, Coleman, WI, Athelstane, WI, and surrounding areas. Customers are bound to find the right tire to fit their budget in our selection of competitively priced Dunlop tires.

    Dunlop: Born Ready to Roll

Dunlop started one day in 1888 when John Boyd Dunlop was watching his son ride his tricycle. Dunlop noticed how rough the ride was because the tires were treaded with metal. So Dunlop glued together the edges of two strips of rubber to make a tube, and then he inflated it with air from a soccer ball pump. Dunlop had invented the first pneumatic rubber tire, which offered a smoother ride than a solid rubber tire, and the modern tire as we know it was born.

With his new invention, Dunlop opened his first tire plant in Dublin in 1889. A tire factory opened in Birmingham, England, two years later, and the Dunlop Rubber Company was born. Dunlop continued his work by inventing tires capable of accelerating over 200 miles per hour by 1920, which opened new doors for the company on the racetrack. The Dunlop Rubber Company also designed Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology (DSST) tires, created to support a vehicle’s entire weight even when the tire is punctured or completely flat.

    Types of Dunlop Tires:

    • Passenger Car Tires
    • Performance Tires
    • SUV/Crossover Tires
    • Light Truck Tires
    • All-Season Tires
    • Summer Tires
    • Winter Tires
